Inken Zierenberg is a Bremen-based artist, poet.
Her artistic practice spans painting, drawing, printmaking and writing.
She creates originals and editions as well as commissioned art works at the intersection of art and ashtanga yoga. Her works oscillate between representationalism, abstraction and complexity. Experiential, from resonance and around to paper as well as canvas - I translate experiences and happenings into abstracted sceneries.
I produce not answers, but rather discourse and space.
"My aim is to ground people with my art in an overwhelming, overstimulated world and to bring them closer to themselves again, because this "being with oneself" through my own story is extremely important to me.
In my works I give peace, a conscious being, clarity, motivation and strength. The here and now, arriving in the moment, with ourselves, our own person. The fact is that our body speaks to us, the question is if we have the peace to listen to it in order to draw strength.
The aim of my works is to provide an opportunity and an invitation."

The starting point of Inken's works, experiences, feelings and the personal inner space are crucial. Ashtanga Yoga, Psychedelic Breath are a living part of her works and also become a connecting visual element across series.
Inken's colour palette is strictly limited. A clear black and white; fluctuating to earthy, blueish colours and shades as needed. Reduction is both the key and the goal. Banished to weightlessness for the moment of contemplation, she excludes the superfluous in her works. Pure and reduced - one moment, one space; a space to breathe.
Inken works both in series and independently - some paintings are solely abstract, while others are predominantly figurative - all connected by her unique handwriting and gestural ductus.
PAST ?
Past and foundation for Inken's current approach to creation and direction. With the earlier building blocks of her self-employment under the name CURATED BY___, she followed her desire to reach, pick up and support people. Ashtanga Yoga, Psychedelic Breath®, traditional Thai massage as well as online and offline events were the three fixed components, which she supplemented with illustrations early on.
«I aim for everyone to know their very own personal tools to take care of themselves well and to grow personally.» With her profound range of services, Inken supports the values of balance, vitality, conscious being, self-determination and personal development, so that they can be actively integrated and perceived in one's life.
Based on her values, Inken continues to focus on a sustainable approach in her body of work.
